Feeling lousy? Change how you see yourself in less than a minute. Here’s how.

The days when you feel meh, blah, in a funk, or overwhelmed can suck the joy out of life. But you don’t have to stay feeling that way.

One of the most important decisions you make every single day is what to focus on, and what you make things mean. Where focus goes, energy flows. What you make things mean become reality for you, and how you see and truly experience the world around you.

So what do you do, when you are feeling blue, lousy, grumpy or not the dream, and want to shift that energy and take back control of your mood, pronto?

1# Pick your favourite power pose and hold it for 2-minutes.

Body language affects how others see you, and it may also change how you see yourself. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy argues that power posing— standing in a posture of confidence, even when you don’t feel confident — can boost feelings of confidence, and might have an impact on your chances for success. In my experience, it has worked 100% of the time, and I start feeling good after about 30 seconds. I’m partial to the Wonderwoman pose.
Pro tip: shoulders back, standing up as straight as possible so it almost feels like you’re sticking your chest completely out.

2# Repeat I am statements

To silence the negative self-chatter that can take you out of life so that you can show up as your favourite self, here are a few mantas you can repeat.
Pro tip: Say these while holding your fav power pose, in a loud voice. Hold the pose and repeat over & over until your mood shifts. If you need a little extra, put on your favourite dance anthem.

I am good enough.
I am smart enough.
I am brave enough.
I am strong enough.
I am beautiful enough.
I am kind enough.
I am inspiring.
I am loved.
I am cared for.
I am powerful.

Save this in your phone, and pull it out to shift your mood, change your energy and claim back your life whenever you need it! You got this!
