Negative chatter, my boyfriend's Dad’s funeral, family dramas, fleeting energy, adjusting to working different time zones, career setbacks, home-life stuff, anxious self-talk. That’s not even the half of the challenges which have come up in my life so far this week. How about yours?
It feels like something will always be lingering in life that causes stress, overwhelm and self-doubt. Toying around with my emotions. Threatening to try and take me out of life or shut me down.
We can’t turn this noise off. But we can learn better strategies to handle it.
The important thing to remember is that life isn’t about achieving ideals. It’s about being committed and making powerful decisions. It’s about practice.
No matter our circumstances, what we must do is both simple and revolutionary — we must meet each day committed to being a beautiful, resourceful state, committed to managing our physiology, energy and make intelligent decisions. This requires waking up every morning and choosing to leave the past in the past, to believe that life is happening for us, not to us and have an abundance mindset—to see the world and our lives full of possibility. We must choose to strive and thrive, and not to linger in pain and suffering.
This is how we reach a sense of peace and ease, rather than feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed—by staying committed, managing our state, again and again, no matter the triggers that come up and making one beautiful decision at a time, despite all the background noise.
