How life turns out when you love someone more than yourself.

My mother is the one who gave me my love of books.
I can remember her reading to me every night before bed.
The love, the warmness, the connection with her meant everything.
The books we read? Magic, wonder, fantasy, science, religion, mathematics, choose your adventure, research, encyclopedias — we read them all. I love everything about books, and it’s easy to see why I link immense pleasure to learning and reading. Thanks, Mum!

I still look forward to reading nearly every single night; I crave it.
For me, there is something magical and pure bliss, about reading and taking an incredible story into our sleep state, then dreaming magical dreams. Magical dreams. Wonderful dreams. Curious dreams. The world, as we know it disappears, and life is unlimited, full of long beautiful days and nights, dreaming about endless possibilities which could be created in the future. Living a life free without limits, my spirit soars.

The gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge. Albert Einstein.

It isn't until the morning comes when I start to feel fear, doubt and feel limited by the invisible forces which seemingly hold me back; when I stop believing. When I wonder if I have what it takes. Where a wave of suffering and terrifying lull of normality sweeps across me, like a light blue wave in the vast glassy-ocean, doing it’s thing, barely making a difference. But what if it didn’t have to—what if my waking hours didn’t have to feel like I’m living my nightmares?

What if the things we think limit us are just stories we made up again and again? So often, we forgot we made them up in the first place, and now we believed they were real?
So often, that the stories we tell ourselves, the doubts and fears we have, which make us feel trapped and stuck are not true at all.
They are not real, not there. They are fantasy, made up by our vivid, beautiful imaginations.

The stories and beliefs we have, which keep us stuck are like our very own urban legends; we just forgot to remember we made up in the first place.
It’s time to take our power back.
Live 2021 like we are wide awake dreaming those curious dreams.
To set a new standard, to step up.
Make our fantasies, wishes and ultimate desires—for ourselves and others—come true. And how can we get started? By telling ourselves new, better, empowering stories, which have us believe we can—we must—move in the direction we want to go.

Do you have kids? Or someone you love more than yourself? If not for you, do it for them. Be the kind of person that inspires a lifelong love affair with something meaningful—like mine with books, for example—just like my Mum has done for me.
