Ring around the Rosie — Is spending too much time online the modern plague?

Them or us?

By 3 pm today stone-grey clouds exponentially bolstered in size, and darkness rolled in and filled the sky accompanied with a non-apologetic rumble. The wind threatened its strength screaming violently through every open crack and window — its ferocity such that the cat evacuated to the bedroom, hiding in the furthermost unreachable corners underneath the king-sized bed. It feels like time to batten down the hatches and hide under the mint-coloured covers.

I’ve been thinking about what to write on such a day. Day 4 with a migraine and I so desperately want solace and just to disconnect, but I literally move house in a day & haven’t done 1/2 of what I “should have”. So, today, I mimic, fueled by the darkness of my mind, and the sky. Don’t take this too seriously.

One original version:
Ring-a-ring o’ roses,
A pocket full of posies,
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down.

Ashes in the water,
Ashes in the sea.
We all jump up,
With a one, two, three!

The 21st Century Plague

We sit around the tee-vee,
Our eyes wide-open and beady,
An episode, after episode,
We all fall down.

Streaming in the morning,
Streaming in the evening,
We all disconnect,
And, we are, free!

(Read mine with the same rhythm as this classic rhyme, just incase that isn’t obvious).
