Triumph over trauma.

We have all had it before.
Deeply traumatic experiences.
That are burned and etched inside us.
The trauma is like a permanent mark,
A stain on our soul,
Living within our bodies and skin.
Except for this kind of mark cannot be seen.
It can only be felt.
Often day after day,
Week after week,
Year after year.
Sometimes, for a lifetime.

These experiences can be the cause of our illnesses,
Or relationship breakups,
Our mental health issues.
They can be the cause of our career downfalls,
The loss of our income,
Drugs and alcohol use,
Or abuse,
Or the fact that we say we want something,
But never seem to get it.

Trauma can be the source of our pain,
Our suffering,
Our neediness,
Our isolation.
They can cause us to play small,
When we know, we could be up to great things.

Our trauma can start to perpetuate limits within our lives.
Glass ceilings, then boxes,
Making some of us feel like modern-day mimes,
Doing life,
Half hunched over,
In an invisible box,
Of our own making.

This hurt.
This trauma.
This suffering and pain.
These limiting beliefs and ideas we have,
They keep us where we are.
Or living in the past.
Experiencing trauma again and again.

But it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom.
If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything in life can be healed.
And the source of our pain can become our greatest strength.

Every good hero needs an even better villain to make an outstanding story.
We wouldn’t watch, read or listen to it otherwise.
And our lives are like that.
We are the hero in our lives.
Our trauma, pain, suffering and terrible experiences?
They are the villains.

When we triumph over the villains,
And it always is a matter of when if we are committed —
We can share our stories,
And help others.

So here is a place to start.

When you feel like you can’t get over whatever trauma it is for yourself,
Think about who it is that you could do it for.
Who is it that you wish to serve?
Who is it that you wish to inspire?
Who would be great enough for you to stand for in the world,
And put the past truly in the past.
Figure that out, and create a huge picture of them in your mind.
Put a picture of them somewhere up in your house to remind you,
That you stand for others,
And that’s who you really are.

Sending loving, healing light.
And energy,
To all souls that need it.
And get started, on something,
