What your high school crushes mean in the business world today.

Who were the cool kids when you went to school? Who did you have a crush on?

I feel like some of that child-like part of us never goes away.
The curiosity. The wonder. The spark. For some of us, the attention-seeking, or need to be teacher's pet, or top of the class.

Who are you? And in business — who do you idolise, love or admire from afar?

I’m majorly crushing on Canva Team right now. Of course, they are the popular clique everyone wants to be like. And when I thought they couldn’t get any cooler, they became the first Australian company to sign tech giant Amazon’s The Climate Pledge to reach net-zero carbon by 2040 and meet The Paris Agreement a decade ahead of schedule. Killing it. Or, the opposite, trying not to kill it (the planet, that is).

Fingers crossed, other organisations copy them, and this becomes a movement ASAP. This got me thinking about my own life and carbon footprint. I was having a conversation with a friend earlier about transparency in sustainability, and how it can be challenging and time-consuming to find out what a company is actually doing vs their commitments.
It would be so much easier if I had a chrome plugin for this :)

Who tracks their carbon footprint? Or emissions? Do you do this for business? And your personal life? How?
What are your favourite businesses to buy from that are transparent in terms of carbon emissions, carbon footprint and/or sustainability? Pop them in the comments below.
