Why we should hire outside of our industry.

Could hiring talent, coaches, and experts from outside of your industry become a best practice? Especially as international borders open and businesses move towards normal in ANZ?

Naivety.
Can be beautiful.
It can mean that we are more open-minded.
We have faith in our ability to figure stuff out.
And believe things like whatever is thrown at me, I’ll think of a solution —
I’ll find a way —
I’ll give it a shot,
I’ll be unstoppable.

And that’s how we often get a breakthrough in an industry.

Change.
Transformation.
Often comes from those outside of the industry.
Those with unjustified optimism.
Can cause leaps forward in the world.

How?

The argument to work with thought leaders,
Experts,
Those with past success,
Role models,
And those who have done it before
Is sound,
And obvious.

But maybe,
There could be as much argument for the beginners mind.
The craftmans mind.
The one who is obsessed with solving problems,
Which could unleash radically different solutions with creativity and fun.
